For the first time in RGS Baseball Contest history, no one won the
weekly contest. In each of the first 92 weekly contests in the 4 year
history of the contest, we had at least one person to post a winning
week with at least 5 plays. But this week, no one did it. So no one
claimed the $250 prize. We were a horrible -$4637 as a group for the
week, with 4 of us posting at least $800 in losses for the week.
We also had no winner on Sunday, for the 2nd time in 3 days. At -
$1770, Sunday was our third worst day of the season, coming two days
after the second worst. Looks like we all need an All Star Break.
This week's weekly contest is a short one. The contest allows bets
on the All Star Game, but it doesn't appear anyone made any. So this
weekly contest will be based on just 4 days of baseball (and one of
those days has just a small handful of games). It starts Thursday.
Meanwhile, we are at the halfway point of July and RS leads the
monthly contest at +$881. No one else is showing a profit for the
month, and 5 of us are buried 4 digits in the red for July so it
doesn't seem likely we'd be able to contend for the monthly title. RS
could be primed to take down his 3rd out of 4 Monthly Contests.
