What about CBS news editing out an embarrasing answer from McCain which
showed he didn't know when the troop surge began? How does that fit with
your paranoia about the media?
The NY Times rejects 99% of the Op-eds that they receive. Especially like
the one submitted by the McCain campaign, which was a political attack
piece. The fact that the Times provided suggestions to the McCain campaign
about what was needed to get the piece published (simply tell us about
your plan for victory in Iraq and Afghanistan without the repeated attacks
of Obama) shows that they wanted to publish his article. By not responding
and instead going right into whining mode about it, the McCain campaign
showed that all they were interested in was setting up the NY Times as the
bad guy, which they know is exactly what the Republican base salivates
over.
