The voters in Charlestown turned down the table games. The closest WV
casino
with a poker room that I'm aware of is in Wheeling, WV about 300 miles
from
DC ( AC is about 200 ). It has a large poker room. However, when I stopped
by there recently while traveling ( very late at night ), the poker room
was
empty....no players. So I'm not sure how busy it is. Probably got a game
or
two going on weekend evenings. Many more choices in AC. Lots of games at
Taj
and Borgota. Several of the other casinos there will have a few games
going.
as well. Taj is a bit worn and gritty but it will sometimes have loose
tables full of casual players who drive to AC from PA, play most the night
and then drive home to save hotel fares. They tend to bring a set amount
that they intend to lose before morning. Borgota tables seem a bit
tougher,
or at least that's how it seemed to me the last time I was in AC.
