100/200 blinds. My stack is in the low 40,000's. Button's stack in the
high 40,000's. BB's stack in the low 20,000's.
I limp in early position with 2 red 7's. Button also limps. BB checks.
Flop comes 7 spades, 8 spades, 9 hearts. BB opens for 200. I raise to
1000. Button calls, BB calls. I have BB on a straight draw and Button
on a flush draw.
Turn is 3 diamonds. BB checks, I bet 2000. Button calls, BB folds. Now
I think Button has a made straight and I need the board to pair to win
this hand.
RIver is 9 clubs. I bet 2000. Button moves all in. I still think he
has a straight or maybe A-9 spades. I call quickly. Button turns over
7-9 offsuit and I am busted.
At the time, I wasn't too upset. I thought it was just a horrible
cooler and there was nothing I could do. But the more I think about it
the more I feel that if I had thought a little while, I should have
been able to put it together and gotten away from the hand. Opinions?
